This calculator is designed to provide you with accurate tyre pressures for your vehicle based on known weight and tyre specifications.
To use this calculator, you must have completed a two point weight recording at a weigh bridge or scale facility (see below). This calculator assumes a basic vehicle with 4 wheels, if you have multiple rear axles or dual wheels on the rear, then this is not for you.
We recommend that your vehicle is fully loaded as it would normally be, this includes water tanks (full or empty depending on your usual preference) fuel tanks, family and pets etc.
How to complete a two point weight recording;
- Drive the front wheels of your vehicle onto the weigh bridge and record the weight. This is your front axle load and we will use it to calculate your front tyre pressures (note; better if the front wheels are as far onto the bridge as possible but with the rear wheels still off the platform)
- Next, drive the whole vehicle onto the weigh bridge and record this weight, this is your Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) and we can use it to calculate your rear axle load and rear tyre pressures
Now that you have your 2 weights, you should also record the load ratings from the tyre sidewalls of your vehicle (see photo below)

(use the “SINGLE” tyre rating)
Notes on tyre load ratings; not all tyres are the same, the load rating on your trailer tyres may be quite different to your tow vehicle. Use the load rating for SINGLE (see photo above for clarification). The DUAL rating is for axles with dual tyres on each end of the axle (ie. 4 tyres on one axle) and our calculators are not designed for that configuration.
That’s it, now simply enter your records into the calculator to see tyre pressures calculated specifically for your vehicle/tyre combination. If you would like a report including weights and axle loads, simply enter your Name and Email then click the “Email Full Report” button to receive a complete report via email.
